“ Entrando la música te invita a entrar. Se ordena y se paga en caja. El servicio es rápido y las personas amables. La comida es rica. En una hora llegaron como 20 personas. Un aproximado de $30.00 por persona. Había muchas fotos que cuentan la historia del restaurante. Limpio el lugar. El mayo-ketchup garlic y el dip mango fuego muy ricos. “ The inside is covered in the dads accomplishments and Puerto Rican memorabilia, we got 9 papas rellenas and pollo encebollado total was almost 80$, a little over priced? A little but the papas were heaven on earth soooo good with the mago sauce, the pollo encebollado had a good taste aswell. We also got rice and beans on the side which was also very good. Never had Puerto Rican food before this and it was a great experience, very welcoming/friendly customer service. ”
“ First things first, everyone should know that I write this review as a Puerto Rican. So I KNOW what PR food should taste like. I am extra special discerning. I live about 12 minutes from Perla and for some inexplicable reason I just recently got around to trying it... and let me just say I am kicking myself for missing out on so much goodness this entire time. La Perla is AUTHENTIC. It has that quintessential Puerto Rican flavor. The arroz con gandules? Perfection. The chuleta? Honestly it's the best chuleta I've ever had. Even my husband was like whoaaaa when he tried it. The platanos maduros were also delicious. I'll have to try the platanos tostones next time which is my fave. We also tried the beef empanada which was a special treat as well. I'm super happy that they also have ketchup-mayo sauce too. Mmmm, so perfect to put on everything! I immediately called my parents after to tell them that I am taking them to La Perla next time they visit. La Perla felt like home. The man I ordered from reminded me of one of my super fun and boisterous great uncles. He practically BECAME my uncle during the short time we took to finish our meals (he started calling me mija). He sang along to salsa music while we were there... like I said, authentic. They have like alllll the PR dishes you could ever want to try so I am for SURE going back soon to try their mofongo. I was floored to find out that they have pernil too, which is usually a holiday staple for most PR families. So exciting that La Perla has it year-round. Suffice to say I will be back again and again and again... I am so happy I don't have to trek all the way to the North Bay to get my fix of good PR food. I have some just up the freeway in the East Bay. I feel so blessed! ”
“ Once I walked into the place, it felt cozy and there were many tables available for eating inside. I had many questions, but the server was super welcoming and answered all of my questions. It helped that the menu was not massive, so I ended with a fried chicken combo. It was made fresh and crispy. She gave me two sauce to try. I love the habanero sauce way more then the garlic sauce. And I'm not even a spicy sauce person. I was worry it might be too spicy at first, but she assured me that it not that spicy. I'm satisfied with her recommendations, and will return to try other dish on the menu. ”
